Sea freight pricing is based on the volume of goods which is calculated in cubic meters. It’s quite difficult to estimate this if you’re not used to doing it on a daily basis.  We have included a few graphics to help give you a rough idea. (The shape of the crate does not have to be 1 meter by 1 meter it can be any size it is only the volume that is calculated.).

Containers come in a wide variety of formats, depending on what you need to ship. The majority of sea cargo is transported in either TEU (twenty foot equivalent unit) or FEU (forty foot equivalent unit) containers. By far the most common container used for personal moves are the standard 20 foot & 40 foot fully enclosed containers (size + dimensions above).



You can share a container with other people as long as your container is going to the same port. This is classed as LCL (Less Container Load).


We handle the complete process from collection to wrapping your goods for safe shipping, we can store your goods in one of our storage facilities until such time as it’s ready to be shipped.


With our LCL (part container load) service, you don’t need to have enough cargo to fill a whole container in order to get a beneficial shipping rate. But if you do, we also offer FCL (full container load) shipments.



A competitively priced consolidation product, LCL offers the highest levels of schedule integrity.



Based on carrier routing options, FCL is our best transit-time-to-cost combination product for full container loads. FCL offers complete schedule flexibility, a high frequency of sailings per port-pair, and availability of equipment.


Even if you live close to the destination port, you’ll need a licenced freight company to receive your goods at the port and arrange the final leg of the journey.  


We provide Port to Port, Door to Port and Door to Door options for Sea Freight. Although the cost of land transportation in Thailand is so affordable and as it’s vital to have your items professionally packed before shipping, we collect 99% of the items directly from our customers.

What are the requirements for shipping personal/household goods?

  • A detailed list of the goods you are planning to ship should be provided to RCL before loading.  Certain items may be restricted. Items that can be classified as hazardous (including paint, cleaners, oils)- even if they are for household use –  may require special documentation.
  • Food, vegetable or animal products cannot be shipped together with household goods.
  • All the items should be palletised, boxed, and/or crated.
  • If the loading point is in a residential area, the shipper should obtain a permit from the city or a letter saying that no permit is required.
  • If loading in a residential area, you should be aware that no ramp or forklift is provided.
  • Shipper is responsible for loading and securing cargo in sea freight containers.

Can you guarantee the transit time?

All the dates we provide are called refereed to as Estimated.

  • ETD – estimated date of departure.
  • ETA – estimated date of arrival.

The transit time provided in your booking confirmation is also estimated. Weather and other circumstances may arise beyond our control which can sometimes cause delays.

What are Incoterms? How do I determine which Incoterm to use?

Incoterms are a series of standard trade definitions or international sales terms, published by International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and widely used in international commercial transactions. Each Incoterm establishes who is responsible for costs and risks such as transport costs, insurance, duties payable and customs clearance.

Right now there are 13 trade terms , the most commonly used are FOB (Free on Board), EXW (Ex-Works), CFR (Cost and Freight), CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) , DAP (Delivered at Place) and others
